BATTERY SAFETY GUIDELINES
Whenever you’re handling or working with a lead-acid battery, consult your vehicle and battery owners’ manual for instructions and safety precautions. Lead-acid batteries contain hydrogen-oxygen gases that can be explosive and sulphuric acid that can cause severe burns. To help avoid risk of danger and injury, observe these precautions when handling or working with a lead-acid battery:
• Wear approved safety glasses or goggles and a face
shield.
• Wear proper clothing to protect your face, hands and body.
• Make sure work area is well-ventilated.
• Never lean over battery while boosting, testing or charging.
• Cigarettes, flames or sparks could cause a battery to explode. Keep
all ignition sources away from the battery.
• Always shield eyes and face from battery.
• Do not charge or use booster cables or adjust post connections without
proper instructions and training.
• KEEP VENT CAPS TIGHT AND LEVEL.
• In event of accident, flush with water and get medical assistance

• KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
CAUTION: Battery Electrolyte contains sulphuric acid, which cause burns to skin and eyes. We suggest you wear eye suitable protection and gloves when unpacking and handling batteries.
How do I unpack my battery?
• Open the cardboard box, and remove the filling. Be
aware of any spillages in the box, the electrolyte may have been absorbed
into the packing material.
• Take the wrapped battery out of the box and place on a flat surface.
Carefully cut the top of the wrapping open and lift the battery clear.
• Dispose of all packaging, in a plastic bag and seal. Do not reuse
the packaging.
I have accepted delivery and there is fluid in the packing, what do I do?
• This is probably a small volume of electrolyte – AS THIS MAYBE ELECTROLITE, DO NOT PLACE ON ANY SURFACES SUCH AS CARPETS, WOODEN FLOORS, SINKS, AVOID CONTACT WITH CLOTHS AND SKIN etc
• Take the battery out of all packaging and wash with copious amounts of water and soap flakes or washing powder. Avoid contact with skin clothes, carpets floors, lawns etc
• Check the battery for signs of any physical damage
• If there is damage please contact us.
• Normally this fluid is excess which as escaped from the battery
breather vents. Open the cell tops if applicable and check fluid levels
in all cells. If levels are visible but below the top of the plates use
de-ionized or distilled water only.
• If the battery requires more than 5% of its size in water then please
contact us.
